Your Diet is Toxic
We have all been sold a poisonous bill of goods. We have been told that a healthy diet consists of what the government passes down to us from on high.
There is no real consideration of what is a healthful diet for humans. Let us consider some of the statistics regarding health:
- There has been a doubling of obesity since the 1960s
- 69% of the adult population in the United States is overweight
- The average American is 24 pounds heavier in 2014 than in 1960.
- The USDA rolled out the food pyramid in the 1990s
- Over the course of the next 20 years obesity exploded
Ask yourself this question: if a company told you that adhering to their advice would promote a healthy way of life but then their advice led to the premature death of hundreds of thousands EVERY YEAR, would you buy their product? I would think not. Everybody now recognizes that smoking cigarettes leads to lung cancer and we are skeptical of cigarette companies. However, that same skepticism is not extended to the government agencies that set out what is an acceptable diet and it is not extended to the manufacturers of processed foods.
The standards laid out for what is an acceptable diet have directly led to the obesity crisis the world now faces and we must ask ourselves:
- Do the people who set the standard really have our best interest at heart?
- Do we need to take responsibility for our own health?
I believe the answer is quite clear.
The food standards handed to us tend to reflect the amount that a given industry lobbies government rather than what is an appropriate diet for human beings. This blog is all about making ourselves stronger individuals so that we can grapple with the world around us. Your physical health is one of the most important things that you can reclaim and it should not be left to people who do not have your best interest at heart.
Do not let yourself get sucked into the trap that so many Americans have fallen into. Reject the conventional wisdom and look for something that works for you.
